Storytelling and Gaming 3 - Twine

I spoke to one of my friends the other day from another university and she told me about a piece of software she was introduced to in her own Storytelling and Gaming module. She told me about a storytelling software called "Twine" which is a script-based game and is great for telling narratives. The software is definitely familiar to games such as "Colossal Cave Adventure" which features a text-based narrative with choices for the player to take. This will result in multiple different paths and endings which increases replayability.

This idea really appeals to me, because it is a unique way of telling stories that is rarely explored by mainstream game developers in the current age of gaming. Since this module also focuses on the narrative of the game, using Twine would force me to focus on the story of the game more than I usually would if I were making my game in Unity, since I wouldn't have to worry about making assets and coding.

This being said, I believe I can include some photos / images in my story as well as sounds and music to increase the atmosphere of the game. Whilst this isn't something I will focus on as the story is more important, I like the option of doing this for the finishing touches of the module.

I'm still unsure about what kind of story I want to tell, but I know that Twine is what I want to use to make my game.
